Job Description
As the Maintenance/Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing all building, facility, and equipment maintenance activities. This role supports both internal and external preventative and corrective maintenance efforts to ensure safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience working with manufacturing equipment, industrial ovens, chemical systems, and overhead crane systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on production equipment, including but not limited to Amada lasers, Amada turret presses, Amada press brakes, Safan-Darley manual and robotic press brakes, manual and robotic welding equipment, air compressors, industrial ovens, overhead cranes, and general facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment involving electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on industrial ovens, including temperature control systems, burners, ventilation systems, and related components.
- Safely handle, store, and maintain equipment associated with manufacturing chemicals, coatings, cleaning agents, and other facility-related chemical systems while adhering to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements and company safety policies.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance activities for overhead crane systems, hoists, lifting devices, and associated equipment.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
- Monitor equipment performance trends and develop preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and unnecessary repairs.
- Plan and coordinate facility improvements, equipment installations, and maintenance updates.
- Maintain work areas, tooling, and maintenance shops to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Maintain company vehicles and forklifts, including routine service, inspections, and basic repairs.
- Manage and maintain the upkeep of all facility equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Inspect facility structures, grounds, and infrastructure to identify repair needs and recommend improvements to leadership.
- Communicate maintenance activities, equipment concerns, and facility updates to leadership in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine facility inspections in partnership with the Engineering Department.
- Coordinate and verify the quality of work completed by outside vendors and contractors.
- Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns as needed.
Skills/Qualifications
- Two years of AMADA maintenance experience preferred.
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience working with industrial ovens, heat-treating equipment, or powder coating systems preferred.
- Experience working around manufacturing chemicals and knowledge of SDS requirements, chemical handling procedures, and environmental compliance.
- Experience inspecting, maintaining, or coordinating repairs for overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Will train the right candidate based on education, experience, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
