What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Survey Instrument Operator position at Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc.?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Candidates must be able to collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
- Assist Party Chief in running the field operations
- Operates and maintains various surveying instruments, such as transits, level, theodolite, and electronic distance measuring equipment to measure and verify elevations, angles and distances.
- Coordinates with office staff and clients as required.
- Adheres to local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura Engineering procedures.
- Monitors accurate completion of daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections
- Performs mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points.
- Interprets maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
- Cleans, checks and adjusts survey instruments to assure accuracy of measurements.
- Oversees surveying activities in the absence of Survey Party Chief.
- Perform related work as required.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 years of utilizing data collectors, robotic and non-robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
- 1 years of experience in land surveying
- Experience with GDOT
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Willing to train the right candidate without the above noted experience
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must be willing and able to travel as required for the role.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
