ACCU Group is seeking a high-caliber, customer-facing Resident Quality Engineer to support our client, a leading global automotive electronic components supplier, on-site at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, SC.
As an ACCU contractor, you will be fully managed by ACCU while serving as the critical on-site bridge between our client and BMW. The primary focus of this role is customer interface, quality management, and relationship maintenance on the manufacturing floor to ensure high customer satisfaction and immediate issue resolution.
- Initial Term: This is a 1-year fixed-term B2B contract for the first phase of the project.
- Extension: Renewal or extension after the first year will be determined based on project progression and customer requirements.
- Permanent Conversion Potential: This project offers a strong Contract-to-Hire pathway. Upon smooth collaboration and exceptional performance during the contract period, ACCU will actively consider transitioning the candidate into a permanent, full-time (W2) employee of ACCU USA, complete with standard corporate benefits.
- ACCU Project Representation & Management: Report directly to the ACCU project management team. Execute deliverables according to ACCU’s service standards and client requirements.
- Customer Interface & Communication: Act as the primary, on-site point of contact for BMW quality and engineering teams on behalf of our automotive electronics client.
- On-site Issue Resolution: Monitor BMW production lines daily. In the event of a quality defect or spill, execute immediate containment actions (sorting, tracking, and disposition of non-conforming material) to protect the customer’s line.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead and coordinate technical problem-solving investigations utilizing standard automotive tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and report findings back to both ACCU management and the client’s engineering teams.
- APQP & PPAP Support: Support engineering changes, coordinate trials, and assist with PPAP/APQP documentation and customer approvals at the plant level.
- Reporting: Document daily/weekly quality metrics, containment status, and customer feedback, aligned with ACCU’s reporting templates.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Automotive Quality Engineering (Tier 1 supplier or OEM experience preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and standard problem-solving methodologies (8D). Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work under high pressure and adapt to ACCU's project management structure.
- Language Skills:
- Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) is required.
- Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese) is a strong plus / highly preferred to facilitate seamless technical alignment and communication with the overseas headquarters team.
- B2B Compliance: Must operate as a registered business entity (e.g., LLC) eligible for Corp-to-Corp contracting and be able to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) matching BMW’s site entry requirements.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
