Specimen Handler - night shift

As a Specimen Handler you will be responsible to ensure that patients samples are picked up, separated and delivered to the proper departments in our laboratory in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

· Highschool diploma or equivalent

· Lab experience preferred, but not mandatory

· Willing to work the night shift

· Ability to read, write and speak English

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties:

· Pick up and separate samples from the processing team

· Ensure all samples are properly labeled, spun and patient identifier is showing.

· Adhere to SOP and company policy’s

· Deliver specimens throughout the lab in a timely manner to their designated stations.

· Centrifuge unspun samples, such as SST’s

· Communicate effectively with all lab personal

· Document electronically and manually for tracking purposes

· Help keep the processing area clean and sanitized

Working Conditions:

· Contact with a wide era of specimen samples, may contain non-biohazard and biohazard fluids.

· Standing for long periods of time

· Close attention to detail to adhere to company guidelines

· Medical facility environment that requires PPE safety guidelines.
