The Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, ensures the accuracy of
financial records, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. This role analyzes
financial data, prepares key reports, strengthens internal controls, and partners with leadership
to guide financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant work location is Accu-Glass in St. Louis, Missouri.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reconciliation and direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual and quarterly budgets, and ad hoc reports requested by executive management
- Oversee the adequacy of inventory management processes, assuring the ongoing accuracy of raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory balances
- Partner with operations to evaluate capital expenditures, ROI, and long-term capacity planning
- Maintain financial documentation required for audits, regulatory inspections, and quality management systems
- Perform a monthly review and reconciliation of revenue and expense accounts and cash receipts and disbursements to subledgers and supporting documentation
- Process weekly payroll
- Prepare, post, verify, and record payroll entries on a weekly basis; partner with Human Resources to assist in the tracking of payroll expenses, benefits administration, and other related items (e.g., Paid Time Off)
- Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures and long-term strategic planning
- Assist accounting staff and executive management with tasks and projects as required
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Payroll management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Proficient with Accounting Information Systems (AIS)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion as required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance (Required)
- Certified Management Accountant (Preferred)
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience ("Big Four" experience a plus)
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
