Controller – Construction Industry
Location: On-site, M–F, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (some flex)
Our client, a well-established union construction company, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. This role is fully on-site and offers a professional environment, strong leadership, and opportunities for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of construction accounting, including AIA billing, payments, and continuation applications
- Process Union payroll, certified payroll including taxes and correspondences to union shop.
- Collaborate with project managers on billing, expenses, and job costing
- Oversee reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support operational and financial decision-making with timely and accurate data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or specific union construction experience
- 5 years of accounting experience within a construction company environment
- Strong knowledge of AIA billing and construction project accounting
- Preferred: experience with Sage 300 (preferred), NetSuite, MS Dynamics or ERP software for general contractors, specialty contractors, construction managers, and real estate developers.
