We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Verifier to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Review and verify patient insurance information promptly and accurately to confirm coverage details before services are rendered
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain authorization, clarify benefits, and resolve coverage issues/delays.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all verification processes
- Utilize medical terminology, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to accurately document insurance details
- Collaborate with medical office staff to update and maintain precise medical records and insurance information
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical records or insurance claims by coordinating with relevant parties
- Maintain detailed logs of verification activities and follow up on pending authorizations or claims as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on insurance verification or billing
- Knowledge of managed care plans, insurance policies, and healthcare reimbursement processes
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Experience working with CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, systems for accurate documentation
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management
- Prior DME experience is a plus but not required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
