Role Description The Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist is a part-time with significant tax season overtime, on-site role based in Racine, WI. This position is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients, including calculating wages, managing time and attendance data, handling deductions, and ensuring timely payments. The role includes administering payroll taxes, managing garnishments, and coordinating payroll services to remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate ledgers, and supporting preparation of financial reports. The specialist will communicate with clients to address payroll and bookkeeping questions, maintain organized records, and collaborate with the tax and accounting team as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage core payroll activities, including Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration.
- Experience handling Payroll Taxes and coordinating comprehensive Payroll Services in compliance with regulations.
- Knowledge of managing Garnishments and other payroll-related deductions accurately and confidentially.
- Knowledge and understanding of reconciling bank and credit card reconciliations
- Ability to create month-end adjusting journal entries
- Preparing monthly Financial Statements or reports for review
- Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting and payroll software, general bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Previous experience in an accounting, tax, or payroll environment is preferred.
- Relevant education in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Racine, WI and maintain client confidentiality and data security.
