Accounting Solutions of Kenosha
Bristol, WI Part Time
POSTED ON 10/12/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/9/2027

Job Summary

We are a small, established tax and accounting practice seeking a highly experienced, organized, and self-motivated accounting professional to join our firm on a flexible, part-time basis.

We need someone who truly understands accounting—not simply data entry—and can independently manage bookkeeping for multiple small business clients.

The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, recognizes when financial records are incorrect, and has the experience to investigate and resolve accounting issues without constant supervision.

Duties

  • Independently manage bookkeeping for small business clients.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements.
  • Clean up incomplete or inaccurate bookkeeping records.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Evaluate client bookkeeping procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate, current, tax-ready financial records.
  • Organize and manage client tax documents.
  • Assist with basic tax return data entry.
  • Help maintain organized office files and efficient procedures.
  • Explore opportunities to improve workflows through technology and AI.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency.
  • Experience troubleshooting and correcting bookkeeping problems.
  • Strong Excel and general computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Initiative, reliability, and sound judgment.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and adapt to improved procedures.

Experience in a CPA, EA, or public accounting practice is highly desirable.

Interest in AI, social media, or digital marketing is a welcome bonus

Flexible Part-Time Schedule

  • Off-season: Approximately 8–10 hours per week, generally over two part-time days.
  • Peak tax season: Approximately 15–25 hours per week, generally over three to four part-time days.
  • Year-round, part-time position.
  • Primarily remote, with periodic on-site responsibilities.
  • Flexible scheduling based on office needs and deadlines.

Remote Work Requirements

The employee provides their own computer and reliable internet connection.

Our professional IT provider will configure the computer for secure access to the firm's network. We provide the required software, licenses, and remote network connectivity.

Periodic on-site attendance is required for tax file setup, physical document management, filing, and office organization.

Why This Opportunity May Be a Great Fit

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys meaningful, independent work but prefers a reduced and flexible schedule.

You'll work directly with the firm's principal, take ownership of client bookkeeping responsibilities, and play an important role in keeping client accounting records accurate and current.

We value practical experience, efficiency, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to solve problems independently.

Experienced and semi-retired accounting professionals are welcome to apply
