Senior Accountant

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting the month-end close process, strengthening internal controls, and improving accounting processes. Working closely with the Head of Finance, this individual will help build scalable accounting practices while supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the U.S. business.

Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Perform and support a timely and accurate month-end close process
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and prepared in accordance with GAAP
General Ledger & Balance Sheet Integrity
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining audit-ready documentation
- Assist with external audits and year-end reporting requirements
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Utilize Microsoft Business Central ERP and Excel to enhance reporting efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Support ongoing system enhancements and reporting automation initiatives
Accounts Payable & Compliance Support
- Provide oversight and support for accounts payable activities to ensure timely processing and compliance
- Assist with sales tax, regulatory filings, and other accounting compliance requirements
- Help ensure accounting policies and internal controls are consistently followed
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support special projects, financial analysis, and initiatives that improve operational efficiency
- Serve as a trusted accounting resource across the organization
Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or technology industry experience is preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Hands-on ERP experience required
- Microsoft Business Central experience is highly preferred
- Experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close
