Position Overview:
We're in need of a seasoned Safety Manager with an electrical background local to the Raleigh, NC area. In this role, you will oversee and support a client performing low-voltage electrical work. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing safety standards on our client's construction project. You will develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct inspections, and provide training to ensure compliance with regulations. This field position requires daily site walks, active engagement with workers, field supervision, and collaboration with management to foster a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and lead site-specific safety orientations.
- Ensure adherence to project-specific rules and EHS requirements.
- Collaborate daily with the Superintendent to coordinate safety activities and High-Risk Work Permits.
- Review and approve Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for task planning and regulatory compliance.
- Enforce contractor compliance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan, including training, inspections, and documentation.
- Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to eliminate or mitigate risks.
- Educate and coach crew members on safety guidelines and policies.
- Conduct regular job site inspections and document findings.
- Perform weekly safety audits and record results.
- Investigate incidents, document findings, and complete detailed reports.
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including JSAs, Toolbox Talks, Safety Permits, and equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience.
Required Certifications:
- OSHA 30
- OSHA 500
- NFPA 70E
- CPR/First Aid
Strongly Preferred Certifications:
- CHST
- SMP
- ASP
- CSP
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS standards.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent judgment and ethics.
- Electrical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software (e.g., Procore).
- In-depth understanding of construction safety practices and industry standards.
