Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Sales Rep role based in Kansas City, MO. The Project Sales Rep will identify and qualify commercial and residential roofing opportunities, build relationships with property owners, facility managers, and general contractors, and conduct site visits to assess roofing conditions and potential storm or wear-related damage. Responsibilities include preparing proposals and estimates, presenting solutions that align with client needs, and coordinating closely with internal project management and installation teams to ensure seamless execution. The role involves collaborating with insurance specialists to support claim documentation, following up consistently to move opportunities through the sales pipeline, and meeting or exceeding individual sales targets. The Project Sales Rep will maintain accurate records in CRM systems, participate in team meetings and training, and represent DHI’s standards of professionalism and integrity in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including prospecting, relationship building, and consultative selling in a B2B or construction-related environment.
- Experience in project-based work, with the ability to coordinate with operations, estimators, and project management to deliver on client expectations.
- Knowledge of roofing, construction, or building envelope systems, or a willingness and ability to quickly learn technical aspects of commercial roofing.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes, storm or weather-related damage documentation, and basic negotiation with carriers or adjusters is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, basic office software, and organized documentation practices to track leads, opportunities, and project details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and a professional, client-focused demeanor.
