Job Summary

The Facilities and Project Coordinator bridges daily workplace operations with long-term infrastructure changes. They oversee building maintenance, manage vendor relationships, and administer site renovation projects. This role ensures physical workspaces are safe, compliant, and optimized for company growth.

  • Supervises and coordinates all maintenance services and repairs pertaining to buildings and related Ensure execution of various projects, from request to completion, while meeting all internal standardization requirements and all external state and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Responsible for supervising maintenance field personnel, ensuring the efficient operation of the maintenance department, including the timeliness of job completion and quality of work
  • Operates and maintains the facility work order system and assigns work orders to the appropriate technician.
  • Reads and interprets facility archived drawings and documents as required to evaluate existing conditions.
  • Maintains accurate equipment and facility maintenance logs and records regarding annual inspections of equipment and general preventative maintenance, including rotational work assignments.
  • Maintains the facility's potable water and sewage system equipment.
  • Responds to alerts from facility burglar and fire alarms during and after normal working hours.
  • Procures materials and parts as needed, researches and makes recommendations for equipment purchases, and maintains inventory for all facility, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Implements all maintenance, schedules installations, and oversees that such repairs are accomplished in a safe and timely manner.
  • Formulates and implements preventative maintenance programs for utility systems, equipment, and building maintenance.
  • Meets with service contractors and vendors regarding the negotiation of contracts, agreements, and guarantees.
  • Schedules, supervises, and directs contractors and subcontractors performing work at ACPS facilities.
  • Establishes priorities and schedules daily, as well as holiday and after-hours repairs and improvement projects.
  • Works with the Director of Facilities and Operations to inspect facilities for compliance with existing fire codes, environmental regulations, and ACPS security policies and procedures.
  • Maintains locks, keys, and door hardware systems for all ACPS facilities.
  • Supervises the care and maintenance of all ACPS grounds.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related work experience, including supervisor experience.
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, a Tradesman’s License or Trade School.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, colleagues, and the public.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal room levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal rooms, outdoors, and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk, and reach overhead.

Duties are normally performed in a school or outdoor environment and may occasionally be performed away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
