The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

The Deputy Construction Quality Manager ensures compliance with quality standards by overseeing inspections, testing, and reporting for construction projects. This role involves interfacing with subcontractors, utility managers, and stakeholders to validate inspection results, resolve deficiencies, and implement corrective actions. The manager coordinates QC resources, reviews construction methodologies for compliance, and maintains documentation within the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). • Proactively engage production teams to prevent deficiencies and minimize rework.
  • Oversee the approval process for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
  • Conduct and supervise inspections and testing across various construction elements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, audits, and corrective actions in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Ensure all construction work aligns with plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Perform off-site quality inspections at supplier and manufacturer facilities.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action analysis related to quality control.
  • Prepare monthly reports consolidating all quality-related data and records.
  • Assist in reviewing construction methodology to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Participate in Punch List Walk-Throughs and jointly add items to the Punch List.
  • Maintain and complete QC checklists for ongoing quality assurance efforts.
  • Stop Work Authority if quality standards are compromised.
  • Coordinate constructability reviews for design changes during construction with key project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of transportation infrastructure construction experience as a construction area manager, field engineer, superintendent or in a senior construction engineering and inspection role.
  • Experience as a construction quality engineer on or at least one transportation infrastructure project.
  • College diploma or superior
  • Strong understanding of construction quality standards, inspections, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with project specifications, work plans, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to evaluate testing results, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Address non-conformance issues efficiently and improve quality processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, subcontractors, superintendents, and management teams.
  • Maintain detailed records and oversee documentation in EDMS.
  • Authority to halt construction if quality standards are not met.
  • Verify that materials, processes, and final construction adhere to project specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience working within Georgia's local construction market
