ACCIÓN LATINA · SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Full-time • In-person • Mission District • Bilingual Required
SALARY $70,000/year SCHEDULE Mon–Fri some weekends LOCATION 2958 24th St, SF (1 remote day/wk) DEADLINE April 27, 2026
WHO WE ARE
Acción Latina is an arts and media nonprofit based in San Francisco’s Latiné Cultural District, built on two strong pillars: community media and cultural arts. Our community media pillar is anchored by El Tecolote, the longest-running bilingual, biweekly newspaper serving San Francisco’s working class Latiné and immigrant community since 1970. Our cultural arts pillar encompasses a growing portfolio of visual, literary, and performing arts programming rooted in Latiné culture and community life — programming that keeps our community engaged and empowered, and provides a sanctuary where people can gather, celebrate, and simply exist.
Together, these two pillars reflect our mission: to promote cultural arts, community media, and civic engagement as a way of building healthy and empowered Latiné communities. The Cultural Arts Manager plays a central role in carrying that mission forward — and works in close collaboration with the El Tecolote team as part of our shared organizational life.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a rare opportunity to lead and grow cultural arts programming with an organization that has been serving the Latiné community for over 55 years — work that is deeply woven into the cultural and civic life of San Francisco’s Latiné community.
We are looking for a mission-driven leader with deep roots in or connection to the Latiné community, who is as comfortable curating a gallery exhibition as they are coordinating a concert, building a community partnership, or managing a program budget. This person oversees our gallery, signature events, and a year-round calendar of visual, literary, and performing arts — while bringing a collaborative, team-first spirit to everything they do.
The Cultural Arts Manager reports to the Executive Director and works day-to-day with a dedicated cultural arts team and community volunteers:
Paseó Artístico Producer Marketing & Production Specialist Cultural Arts Fellow
Acción Latina is a small, close-knit team united by shared values and a deep commitment to the community we serve. This is an exciting moment to join us — we are looking for someone ready to help usher in a new generation of cultural arts leadership, bringing fresh energy while honoring the legacy we have built together.

Overall
The following responsibilities apply across all cultural arts programs and events managed by this role.

- Oversee all gallery operations, including day-to-day management, exhibition cycles, and the outdoor performance patio.
- Manage gallery hours — currently Thursdays and Fridays, and some evenings for gallery openings and with the potential to expand — and be present during gallery hours as a consistent part of the weekly schedule.

Encuentro del Canto Popular
- Support the planning and execution of Acción Latina’s largest annual fundraiser in close collaboration with the Executive Director, cultural arts team, and a dedicated group of longtime volunteers; responsibilities include artist coordination, logistics support, and volunteer coordination.
