Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing case files, including pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence
- Conduct thorough legal research related to personal injury law and relevant procedural laws to support case strategies
- Manage case management systems and document review processes efficiently using tools like iManage and PCLaw
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather essential information for case development
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Maintain accurate records of case progress, deadlines, and client communications while ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Coordinate with insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved in the injury claims process
- Support administrative functions including data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and managing client inquiries with professionalism
- Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to stay current on personal injury law developments and procedural requirements
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence, and witness information while supporting litigation efforts
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience supporting personal injury law cases or general litigation environments
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, legal drafting, and document management systems such as iManage or similar platforms
- Familiarity with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive case analysis
- Experience with legal administrative support tasks such as filing, proofreading, transcription, and client communication
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining organizational efficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document creation and communication purposes
- Knowledge of procedural law requirements specific to personal injury cases as well as broader areas like estate planning or workers' compensation law is a plus
- Excellent interviewing skills combined with strong written communication abilities for effective client interaction
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
- Previous experience working within a law office environment that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and integrity
