Summary
AccessPoint RI is a nonprofit organization assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. We are currently hiring Direct Support Professionals to oversee and support individuals in reaching their fullest potential by participating in community activities that promote growth and independence.
Participation
Ensure that individuals supported are treated with respect and dignity.
Comprehends and displays the purpose of AccessPoint RI.
Interact in a polite, honest, positive, and professional manner.
Work together with colleagues to come up with a solution when challenges occur.
Helps create a nurturing atmosphere that promotes personal development and education.
Encourages and demonstrates respectful and harmonious relationships among housemates.
Individual Support Planning
Actively involved with the supported individuals in the planning and development of the Individual Support Plan.
Knows the content of each ISP and partners with persons supported to follow through on goals.
Supports people in activities of their choosing at home and in the community.
Assist supported individuals with discovering new areas of interest.
Assist individuals to develop a positive self image.
Encourages independence with adult daily living skills assisting whenever needed.
Documentation
Reads the house communication log at the beginning of each shift.
Writes a clear, summary of the shift before the end of each shift.
Completes all required daily documentation as related to the ISP.
Is accountable for and properly documents the use of money.
Ensures timely and appropriate Logging in and out of each shift worked.
Logs onto and checks Access Point email once per shift.
Acknowledges communication with the Residential Manager in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age or older to apply.
High school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Must pass a State Background Check.
Salary : $20
