Direct Support Professional position overview and responsibilities:
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Medication administration
- Personal cares
- Meal preparation
- Housekeeping services
- Written and/or electronic communication
- Assist residents in obtaining transportation when necessary - including accompanying the resident into the community
Direct Support Professional Qualifications:
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Able to do job tasks with little supervision
- A sense of caring – and a desire to make a difference
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
