Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings according to care plans
- Support medication administration and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and adherence to infection control protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere
- Follow detailed care plans designed by healthcare professionals or social workers to meet each client’s unique needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient safety oversight
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, families, and healthcare providers
- Valid certifications in CPR and first aid are required; additional certifications related to nursing or social work are a plus
