Job Overview
Accessibility Consulting Partners, Inc. (ACP) seeks reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Field Technicians / Surveyors on a part-time, as-needed basis. In this role, you will assist with on-site evaluations of public spaces, facilities, and infrastructure to assess compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
While the position is project-based and scheduled as needed, we anticipate a busy summer season with consistent field opportunities for qualified candidates. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accessibility, public service, and infrastructure improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Accessibility Specialists during field assessments of public facilities and pedestrian rights-of-way.
- Use mobile devices and measuring tools to document barriers and accessibility features.
- Assist the Accessibility Specialist in taking detailed measurements, field notes, and photographs of site conditions.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in all collected data.
- Work outdoors in various conditions and travel to project locations as needed.
- Communicate with the project team to ensure smooth field operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow structured field protocols.
- Comfortable using mobile apps and basic measurement tools.
- Able to walk long distances and work outside for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills
- Interest in ADA compliance, public infrastructure, or the built environment.
- Familiarity with GIS, surveying tools, or mobile data collection platforms is a plus.
- Experience working on public sector projects or construction sites is helpful.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability during the summer months is highly preferred.
