Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: Brookshire, TX
Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 annually
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary
The Family Practice Nurse Practitioner functions as an advanced practice provider responsible for delivering primary healthcare services to pediatric clients. This role includes prescribing medications under prescriptive authority and collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Applies advanced clinical expertise and specialized knowledge to assess patients and identify actual and potential diagnoses.
- Gathers comprehensive patient health histories through interviews with patients and/or family members and conducts physical examinations.
- Identifies risk factors by distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings from assessments, lab results, radiological studies, and behavioral evaluations.
Patient Care Responsibilities

Assess and manage acute illnesses, consulting or referring to physicians as needed.

Recommend medications and appropriate remedies for common acute conditions.

Manage stable chronic conditions using established protocols or in collaboration with physicians.

Refer patients with unstable chronic conditions to appropriate specialists.

Provide counseling and education on health needs, prevention, and wellness promotion.

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated, comprehensive patient care.

Maintain all required professional licenses and ensure ongoing competency through continuing education.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Education / Licensure / Certification Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse with recognition as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN).
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Current certification in specialty area or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the relevant area of practice.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong commitment to serving as a patient advocate and promoting quality healthcare services.
