Position Summary/Responsibilities
Serves as a clinical expert, educator, and mentor within a team to support clinical practice and patient care.
Qualifications And Skills
Requires a BSN and current Texas RN licensure. A national certification is preferred. Must have at least two years of full-time nursing experience, with five years preferred.
Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) must be obtained within two years of employment. Formal diabetes education training or recent experience in inpatient/outpatient diabetes care for three years is essential.
Experience with adult education principles, curriculum development, and program evaluation is required. Knowledge of continuous glucose monitoring systems and pump training is a plus.
Licensure and Certifications
Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Healthcare Provider cards are mandatory.
