First Assist / Clinical Nurse

Role Overview

The RN First Assistant (RNFA) collaborates with surgeons during surgical procedures in an operating room with three ORs.

Responsibilities

• Provides intraoperative patient care as a first assistant, including preoperative assessments, analyzing data, and planning care.
• Assists in surgeries across various specialties such as general, ENT, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, GI, and plastic surgery.
• Monitors patient responses, administers medications, and modifies care plans accordingly.
• Develops, manages, and evaluates individualized perioperative care plans, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and quality.
• Participates in professional development, incorporates research into practice, and advocates for patient safety and ethical care.
• Provides leadership within the perioperative team, supporting collaboration and continuous improvement.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2-5 years of nursing experience, with preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Licenses & Certifications: RN licensure required; certifications such as Certified First Assistant, CNOR, or Certified RN First Assistant are preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills essential.
