- Scrubbing and assisting in open heart procedures such as valve replacements and CABG.
- Handling cardiovascular surgical instruments, equipment, and devices with proficiency.
- Maintaining sterile fields and adhering to aseptic techniques during surgeries.
- Anticipating surgeon needs and providing proactive support during complex cases.
- Communicating effectively with surgical team members and managing documentation and supplies.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of surgical equipment and supporting efficient patient throughput.
- Performing physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Successful completion of a Surgical Tech Course or equivalent experience.
- Virginia State Surgical Technician license.
- BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, and customer service abilities.
- Physical ability to perform required tasks.
- Experience in cardiovascular or cardiac surgery.
- 1-2 years of OR or scrub experience.
- Familiarity with open heart procedures and cardiac instrumentation.
