Description

The MRI Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring that MRI procedures are scheduled and coordinated effectively. They will work closely with patients, patient services, the authorization department, providers, and imaging technologists to ensure all aspects of the MRI are coordinated properly including, pre MRI screening, scheduling, patient preparation, and imaging sharing.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Competently manage the MRI schedule to assure patients are seen within set department parameters and goals
• Assist patients in completion of the MRI packet while reviewing for accuracy and addressing any information needing further clarification
• Schedule outpatient MRI requests and manages transfer of information (ie paperwork, prior authorization, etc.)
• Register MRI patients accurately
• Effectively communicate with MRI technologists and providers as needed
• Manage incoming and outgoing image sharing requests
• Prepares patients for their MRI exam upon arrival for their appointment
• Participates in departmental/organization Performance Improvement activities as requested
• Insure timely and accurate communication of patient information with health care team members as may be required for prompt and efficient patient care
• Completes all necessary written documentation
• Completes all necessary computer documentation in a timely manner
• Preps charts for MRI technologist
• Maintains competencies safety regulations
• Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction
• Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
• Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
