Veterinary Technician Shift Supervisor (Emergency) * Signing Bonus available*
Location: ACCESS Pasadena
Schedule: Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat Overnight
Pay range: $26-$40/hr (dependent on leveling and credentials)
*Additional weekend and evening differentials

We are seeking a skilled technician and natural leader on the treatment floor to join our Emergency Critical Care Department as a Technician Shift Supervisor.
Looking to pair your high-level ER/ICU nursing skills with hands-on leadership? At ACCESS Pasadena, our Emergency & Critical Care department offers a dynamic environment where you can step into a pivotal role. Patients are managed by our board-certified Criticalists and dedicated team of ER veterinarians.
As a Shift Supervisor, you will help lead our team of incredibly talented technicians, doctor assistants, and dedicated support staff in real-time. From managing the floor during incoming STAT traumas to optimizing team workflows, you will be the steady anchor that ensures operational excellence and top-tier patient care when it matters most.
What you’ll do:
- Create a professional and supportive atmosphere as the primary point of contact on the floor for all technical questions, comments, and concerns. You will oversee team members on shift in the moment to ensure responsibilities are clear and excellent patient care is upheld.
- Assign patients to teams based on case severity and the individual skill levels of the team. You will update the full patient census forms, the patient board, and the triage board regularly.
- Ensure detailed, seamless patient rounds are executed during team transfers. Review and resolve patient, client, team member or doctor issues dynamically as they arise to allow for expedited resolution, escalating only when necessary.
- Act as a primary resource manager, key-holder, or Cubex resource as needed. You will also champion team development by training staff in critical competencies as directed by leadership.
What we’re looking for:
Proven Internal Track Record: Have been a member of the technical staff historically at an ACCESS hospital.
Skill Level: At minimum be an Animal Care Assistant or RVT Level 2 or above, with strong emergency and critical care nursing experience.
Leadership Mindset: A driven, solutions-oriented natural leader who can optimize team dynamics in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Interest in further leadership growth and development.
