Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lab Assistant. In this role, you will provide essential support to our laboratory operations by assisting with various tasks and ensuring the smooth functioning of our laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist laboratory staff with routine tasks such as sample preparation, equipment setup, and data entry
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory by cleaning equipment, washing glassware, and disposing of waste materials properly
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory materials and equipment as needed
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all lab personnel
- Keep accurate records of experiments, test results, and inventory levels
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies and alert management when replenishment is needed
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems as they arise
- Participate in training sessions to expand knowledge and skills in laboratory techniques and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management
- Additional tasks may be assigned at any time by the supervisor
- 1-2 years of lab assistance experience preferred
- High school diploma required
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools
- Ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment and supplies as needed
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings as needed
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
