Responsibilities
Contract Lead Duties
- Serve as an alternate point of contact on the National Institutes of Health's Contracting Officer Representative, contract employees, and all Service Providers assigned to the contract
- Administer and ensure compliance with security regulations and procedures, including mandatory security training and badging requirements
- Document any issues that arise and either resolve or refer the issue to the ASL Interpreting Department Manager for further action
- Train clients on how to use uSked
Scheduling Duties
- In partnership with Access’ current NIH Lead and Scheduling Department, coordinate the schedules of Service Providers assigned to the contract
- Ensure accuracy of all job information and service provider placement
- Record necessary service provider, assignment, and client information
- Answer all communication promptly and professionally
Interpreting Duties
- Provide clear and accurate ASL <> Spoken English interpreting services on-site or virtually, if an appropriate fit, in the following settings: business or professional meetings, trainings or conferences, platform presentations, among others.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Exceptional customer service while conducting business with contract representatives, interpreters and clients
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to prioritization and schedules
- Thorough knowledge of office administration, policies, practices, and procedures
- Must be able to communicate fluently in Spoken English and American Sign Language
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to interpret for either 90 minutes alone or up to 8 hours with a team
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- A minimum of three years of professional interpreting experience OR an undergraduate degree in interpreting or a related field
- Successfully passed the Access Screening
- Strong, stable internet connection (minimum of 5pmbs up/down)
- Private workspace
Preferred
- Experience with contract management or interpreter scheduling
- Familiarity with NIH’s clients
