Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

ACCESS Family Care - Joplin, MO

ACCESS Family Care is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Women's Health team. This position will work closely with our Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, providing high-quality patient care in our Joplin Medical Clinic and traveling to our Anderson Medical Clinic approximately two days per week.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant/LPN will support the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in delivering comprehensive patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, patient education, documentation, and coordination of care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide outstanding patient service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner with examinations and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
• Administer medications and injections as directed and permitted by licensure.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Travel to the Anderson Medical Clinic approximately two days per week to support patient care services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Medical Assistant

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current certification preferred.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Current Missouri LPN license in good standing.
• Previous clinic or women's health experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable transportation for travel between clinic locations.

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday-Friday
• Primarily based in Joplin, MO
• Travel to Anderson Medical Clinic approximately two days per week
