What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Access Community Credit Union?
The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing a broad variety of accounting and clerical support to the Accounting and Member Service Department personnel. Responsibilities include assisting with the maintenance of accounting journals, processing daily accounting and CD interest entries, reconciling daily teller activities, conducting loan audits, processing accounts payable transactions and checks, balancing bank statements and assisting with other various financial tasks and reports, and working daily returns. Responsible for conducting monthly cash and vault audits under direction of the VP of Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail with financial documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication
Work environment:
- The role is office-based in a busy, fast-paced setting.
- Employees will spend long periods sitting and using a computer or phone.
