Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Provide strategic direction for the Corporate Actions function, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation and process enhancements to reduce manual intervention and improve scalability.
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of voluntary and mandatory corporate actions (e.g., dividends, mergers, spin-offs, tenders, proxy voting).
- Ensure accurate reconciliation, entitlement calculations, and timely settlement of corporate action events.
- Monitor and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (e.g., SEC, DTCC, ISO standards).
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex corporate action issues, resolving discrepancies with custodians, brokers, and clients.
- Partner with Technology, Middle Office, and Front Office teams to enhance systems and workflows.
- Represent the firm in industry forums, staying abreast of market changes and best practices.
- Implement robust controls to prevent financial losses due to corporate action errors.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to maintain data integrity and operational resilience.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to track team performance and operational efficiency.
- Present executive-level reports on corporate actions processing, risk exposure, and process improvements.
- Minimum of 5 years in Corporate Actions processing
- Minimum of 3 in People Management experience
- Deep knowledge of global corporate action types and market practices (SWIFT, DTCC, ISO 15022/20022).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Proficiency with corporate action platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Broadridge, SmartStream, Euroclear, Clearstream, S&P).
- Strong understanding of settlement processes (DTC, Euroclear, Clearstream).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on risk management and process optimization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in asset management, investment banking, or global custodian operations.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in corporate actions automation.
