About The Role
We are seeking qualified contractors to fulfil the role of a Prior Authorization Investigation Specialist. The Premium Assistance (PA) Investigation Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring program integrity by reviewing documentation, conducting eligibility investigations, and supporting accurate premium assistance determinations.
This position works directly with members, employers, and internal teams to evaluate eligibility, resolve documentation issues, and meet daily productivity goals in a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical, and comfortable balancing investigative work with customer communication. This opportunity is open to individuals located in the San Antonio, TX and surrounding areas.
Additionally, the role requires access to reliable internet and the ability to manage all responsibilities from a home office. The project hours of operations will be Monday – Friday, in which candidate must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central Time.
Contractors will be engaged and paid by a third-party payroll supplier, BCforward, which will serve as the employer of record for tax and compliance purposes.

- Conduct research and investigations to gather all required information for eligibility and case evaluation
- Analyze case documentation, including paystubs and supporting materials, to determine Premium Assistance eligibility and monthly reimbursement qualification
- Communicate with PA members, employers, and internal teams to request, clarify, or validate documentation
- Respond to inbound calls while maintaining professional conduct and service standards
- Accurate eligibility determinations supported by complete and compliant documentation
- Timely resolution of cases requiring additional information or follow up
- Consistent achievement or exceeding of daily productivity and quality goals
- Escalation support and contribution to training efforts for new team members
- 2 years' experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) for documentation and correspondence
- Telephone systems for inbound and outbound member and employer communication
- Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Internal communication platforms used for team collaboration and training support
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service and/or contact center
- Minimum of 2 year experience in call center work
- Excellent problem- solving skills,
- Ability to manage workflows, Strong interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- There may be voluntary overtime available Monday-Saturday
- 5 years computer experience
