Senior Cloud Engineer

Introduction:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development with a focus on cloud technologies and distributed systems, particularly in AWS. If you have a strong background in cloud deployment operations, service-oriented architecture, API development, and complex system integration, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to cloud deployments in an engineering role
• Design and implement cloud-native applications using microservices
• Build and secure APIs for distributed cloud systems
• Integrate multiple cloud services and third-party applications in enterprise environments
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle with a focus on cloud platforms
• Contribute to production deployments and ensure system stability

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• 15 years of software development with at least 9 years of cloud domain expertise in AWS, Microservices, Cloud integration, and access management
• Hands-on experience with REST API in Java or Python

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with OAuth, SSO, SAML federation, and MFA integration in cloud applications
• Knowledge of IAM architecture and identity lifecycle management
• Proficiency in Amazon Web Services, Java, Python, and other relevant technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Technical Skills:

• Amazon Web Services: EC2, EKS, ECS, KMS, S3, IAM, RDS, etc.
• Container Orchestration: Kubernetes
• Service Mesh: Istio
• Package Management: Helm, pip
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Cloud Formation
• DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git, Artifactory
• Java Stack: Spring / Spring Boot, JPA / Hibernate, Postgres, REST / RPC calls over HTTP
• Scripting Languages: Groovy, Perl, Python, Ruby

Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, driven, and creative individual

Differentiators:

• Experience with WebAuthn
• Knowledge of security protocols such as PKI, SSL/TLS, etc.
