Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Accounting Manager located in El Paso, TX. The Finance Accounting Manager will oversee financial operations, prepare financial statements, manage budgeting processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to guide decision-making. They will also work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial goals are met, maintain compliance with regulations, and recommend improvements to financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Manage company insurance programs (general liability, workers' comp, vehicle, etc.).
- Oversee asset management, including tracking and safeguarding company-owned equipment.
Job Costing & Project Finance
- Implement and manage systems for accurate job costing and project profitability analysis.
- Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, costs, and financial outcomes.
- Provide variance analysis and recommendations to support project decision-making.
- Support accurate and competitive project bids with financial input.
Employee Benefits & Compliance
- Administer and oversee company retirement and benefits programs, including 401(k).
- Manage ESOP-related financial reporting and compliance (e.g., Form 5500, 409 valuations).
- Work with third-party providers, auditors, and legal advisors to ensure accurate filings and compliance.
- Support employee communication on financial and benefits-related matters.
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, dashboards, and KPls for leadership.
- Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and debt obligations.
- Provide financial insights to leadership that strengthen company performance and stability.
Leadership & Growth
- Demonstrate a growth mindset, with a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and execute new responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, gaining exposure to broader financial strategy.
- Take on increasing responsibility over time, with opportunities to expand into higher levels of financial leadership within the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field (CPA/MBA a plus)
- 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
- Strong analytical skills and financial systems proficiency
- Experience in construction, commercial services, or project-based firms preferred
- ESOP experience preferred
