Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

At Apria, you’ll experience a strong balance between structured branch work and meaningful in‑person patient care. This role is primarily office‑based, offering predictable workflows, while still allowing you to build clinical relationships through patient visits. You’ll support patients transitioning from hospital to home, educating families, and collaborating closely with both the branch and sales teams.

Key Highlights

• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Patient visits Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00–4:00 PM
• Work Arrangement: On-site; 80% in the office, 20% on the road
• Driving Radius: Covers TN & VA; up to 2 hours from the branch
  
  

Salary range

• $25 – $28 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location
  
  

On-Call transparency

• Rotates with Logistics Coordinator.
• Minimal on-call duties.
  
  

What You’ll Do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required
• Assist sales team 1–2 times per quarter as needed.
  
  

What We Look For

• Respiratory Therapist with an active TN & VA RT license
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
  
  

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  
  

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
