About the Role


Accelyst is seeking an experienced IT Applications Project Manager to lead and manage multiple end-to-end software and IT application projects while ensuring adherence to established project governance, documentation standards, and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies and have the ability to manage large-scale projects with minimal oversight. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, along with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project execution and successful delivery.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage multiple software development and IT application projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment across concurrent projects.
  • Manage project tracking and reporting using a structured Waterfall framework while supporting Agile delivery teams utilizing Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Review and interpret contractual documentation to extract scope, deliverables, milestones, and compliance obligations and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Create project charters, kickoff presentations, communication plans, and detailed schedules for project execution.
  • Facilitate project meetings, Agile ceremonies, and stakeholder discussions while maintaining project boards and dashboards.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, constraints, and dependencies and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain project roadmaps and ensure compliance with established project standards and governance.
  • Draft process documentation, operating procedures, and “how-to” guides to support organizational knowledge management.
  • Reinforce team priorities, policies, and best practices to ensure project consistency and quality.
  • Maintain, update, and archive project documentation, meeting notes, and follow-up actions.
  • Generate reports and meeting summaries that provide actionable information for management decision-making.
  • Ensure effective communication channels and escalation processes are established across all project teams.
  • Utilize project management tools including MS Project, Project Online, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and Outlook Scheduling Assistant.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to monitor team velocity, milestones, and project performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred.



Required Skills


  • 5 years of project management experience specifically supporting software development or IT application projects.
  • Strong experience managing projects using both Waterfall and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies in a hybrid delivery environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Project Online for schedule development and project management.
  • Experience reviewing contractual documents and extracting project scope, deliverables, milestones, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and large-scale projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience facilitating project meetings and maintaining project governance standards.
  • Proficiency with project collaboration and tracking tools including Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create dashboards and data visualizations to measure project performance and team velocity.
  • Experience maintaining documentation repositories and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Local Atlanta candidates only.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with onsite presence in the Atlanta (Midtown) office as needed (typically once per week).



Preferred Skills


  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • College degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.
  • Experience working with enterprise infrastructure and software development teams.
  • Familiarity with project governance frameworks and compliance-driven environments.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams within large organizations.
