Your Impact
The Fabrication Technician I is a hands-on role responsible for assembling and welding high-quality components that support nearly all of Accelevation’s products. This position combines basic fabrication, welding, and assembly work with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to building reliable products that support operational excellence.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assemble, fabricate, and weld metal and containment components according to work instructions, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Build products in a correct, timely, and cost-effective manner while meeting quality and safety requirements.
- Prepare parts for welding by cutting, grinding, fitting, tacking, and finishing surfaces.
- Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication using appropriate tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment.
- Monitor welding and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, or damage.
- Perform quality checks on parts and completed assemblies; complete required quality and job-tracking documentation.
- Follow all safety guidelines, job procedures, and company policies as outlined in Accelevation’s Employee Handbook.
- Maintain, organize, and clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Notify Team Leader or Manager of faulty equipment, defective materials, or quality concerns.
- Learn about building materials, welding techniques, and technical terminology to support skill development and growth.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Perform machine operation and other related duties as assigned.
- Become forklift certified if required by the manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to assembly, welding, or fabrication processes (cutting, grinding, drilling, welding/brazing).
- Basic understanding of welding safety and shop practices; willingness to learn advanced techniques.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks effectively.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Employees must be able to talk, hear, and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close and color vision and focus adjustment. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and explosives. Noise levels can be very loud, requiring ear protection.
