POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager – Mobile Turbine Generator Sets leads and manages the safe, reliable, and cost effective maintenance execution for a fleet of truck mounted turbine generator sets and associated balance of plant. This role owns maintenance readiness, planning, compliance, and continuous improvement to maximize fleet availability while meeting all regulatory and client requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may")
- Enforces maintenance safety performance including LOTO, energized work rules, arc flash controls, permit to work, and safe lifting/rigging coordination.
- Ensures MV work is executed only by qualified personnel with appropriate PPE, procedures, and approved test equipment.
- Leads toolbox talks, JSAs/JHAs, hazard reporting, and corrective action closure to drive a proactive safety culture.
- Maintains compliance with applicable standards, company policies, and client/site requirements.
- Develops and executes a maintenance program aligned to OEM recommendations and operational duty cycles (preventive, corrective, and condition based).
- Builds weekly and look ahead maintenance schedules coordinated with Operations and Installation/Commissioning activities.
- Creates job plans and work packs with step by step instructions, parts/tools lists, permits, and post work verification requirements.
- Defines acceptance criteria and post maintenance functional checks, including run checks, alarms, and communications verification.
- Manages Maintenance Technicians and MV Technicians, including staffing plans, onboarding, competency assessments, and performance management.
- Sets daily/weekly priorities, conducts pre job briefs, and ensures effective shift turnover practices.
- Drives skills development in turbine package basics, MV safety, switching practices, and troubleshooting.
- Plans and oversees safe MV isolations, switching activities, grounding verification, and execution of MV maintenance tasks.
- Coordinates inspection and maintenance of MV switchgear, breakers, transformers, and cabling/terminations.
- Ensures relay settings and changes are controlled and executed only by authorized parties and maintains records of verification evidence.
- Leads troubleshooting of repeat failures, trips, alarms, or derates while coordinating cross discipline response.
- Drives root cause analysis (RCA) for significant events and implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Manages critical spares strategy and stocking levels to prevent stockouts for operationally critical items.
- Coordinates with Supply Chain for long lead items, repairables, warranties, core returns, and vendor service support.
- Ensures readiness and calibration status of test equipment and tools.
- Manages maintenance records and configuration control, including work orders, failure documentation, and as found/as left conditions.
- Provides reporting to the Director of Installation & Commissioning on safety, availability, backlog, and maintenance cost performance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Successfully passes all applicable general pre employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre employment drug screening, pre employment fit tests, pre employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
- Driver’s License required. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.)
- Daily in person, predictable attendance.
- Proficiency in spoken English language.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Required:
- 10 years in industrial power generation maintenance and/or field services with increasing leadership responsibility (team lead/supervisor/manager).
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading technicians performing electrical and mechanical maintenance in field conditions.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices (LOTO, arc flash awareness) and maintenance planning/scheduling discipline.
- Working knowledge of MV equipment maintenance practices and safe work controls through oversight/coordination with MV technicians.
- Ability to coordinate controls/SCADA troubleshooting support and manage cross discipline interfaces.
Preferred:
- Experience with turbine generator packages (aero derivative or industrial), mobile/temporary power, or fast deploy generation.
- Formal training/certification aligned to MV switching and electrical safety.
- Familiarity with CMMS/EAM tools (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Infor) and reliability methods (RCA, FMEA, RCM concepts).
- Experience managing service vendors and warranty administration.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES
- Leadership of multi functional maintenance teams in high pressure field environments.
- Deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance for turbine generator packages and MV balance of plant systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning, scheduling, and creation of detailed job plans/work packs.
- Management of MV systems oversight, including safe isolation, switching protocols, and grounding verification.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions for repeat failure modes.
- Control of critical spares strategy, inventory levels, and maintenance tooling calibration.
- Disciplined management of technical documentation, configuration control, and CMMS data integrity.

Given these conditions, employees visiting a pad site are required to wear company mandated and company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including company mandated and company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Category 2 fire retardant coveralls or Category 2 shirt/jeans combination, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and designated safety gloves according to role. Employees must strictly adhere to all safety policies, including the Companies' Life Saving Rules and procedures at all times.
Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
