What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper position at Accelerated Assemblies?
Accelerated Assemblies is currently seeking a Full Time, Shipper to work in our production facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This is a 1st Shift position, with a schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (Mon - Fri). This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a rate of pay determined by experience.
Responsibilities:
- Order Preparation: Pull, pack, strap, crate, and label outgoing merchandise or replacement parts.
- Package and Label: Wrap items securely, attach correct address labels, and create accurate shipping documents like packing lists.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, manifests, and shipping logs.
- Coordinate Carriers: Schedule pickups and track deliveries with major shipping services like UPS, FedEx, or freight companies.
- Manage Inventory: Count stock, update finish good logs
- Operate Equipment: Use warehouse tools safely, pallet jacks
Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), ERP software, barcode scanners, and shipping portals like UPS WorldShip.
- Driver's License: Potential delivery / pickups - locally
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk for extended shifts and lift between 25 and 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions written and verbally communicated in English
- Computer literate
