What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions?
Position Summary
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Quality Engineer with a mastery of Automotive Core Tools to lead new program launches. This role is critical in bridging the gap between design intent and manufacturing excellence. You will be the technical authority on GD&T, MSA, and APQP, ensuring that all products—from suspension components to structural BIW—meet rigorous OEM standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can stop a line when necessary but has the analytical skills to ensure it never has to get to that point.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Core Tools & APQP Leadership
Lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for assigned programs, ensuring all milestones are met and documentation is audit-ready.
Execute flawless PPAP submissions, coordinating all necessary data within strict customer timeframes.
Conduct exhaustive Capability Studies and Gauge R&R (MSA) analysis to validate measurement systems and process stability.
Interpret complex CMM reports and translate data into actionable process adjustments.
2. Technical Analysis & Troubleshooting
Perform deep-dive Root Cause Analysis using disciplined methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve chronic manufacturing issues.
Utilize SPC data analysis to monitor process behavior and lead variability reduction initiatives.
Serve as the subject matter expert for GD&T and blueprint reading, ensuring design requirements are understood and met by the production team.
3. Quality Compliance & Control
Develop and maintain quality documentation in strict compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 standards.
Review and determine the disposition of non-conforming products, ensuring zero-defect outflow to customers.
Exercise the authority to stop production to correct quality issues and control further processing of non-conforming material until the deficiency is resolved.
4. Project Coordination & Communication
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve conflicting design requirements, safety concerns, or material unsuitability.
Act as the primary quality liaison, notifying internal and external customers of potential risks and proposing data-backed resolutions.
Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement, contributing ideas for efficiency and encouraging team-wide participation in Kaizen events.
