Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
We are partnering with a global family-owned manufacturing and distribution organization with European ownership and a growing North American presence to staff their CFO position due to an upcoming retirement in mid-2026.
The Jefferson County, WI facility primarily sells to OEM's, and locally has distribution, assembly, and manufacturing functions with approximate revenue of $40M. Target start date is late 1st quarter/early 2nd quarter 2026. They are considering local candidates for this fully onsite position.
The Opportunity
The incoming CFO will serve as a hands-on financial leader, responsible for both strategic direction and day-to-day financial operations. Due to the global nature of the organization, this role requires comfort moving seamlessly from high-level planning and executive presentations to the operational level. Reports directly to the President and dotted line to the Group CFO. This is an ideal opportunity for a finance leader who has built experience in larger manufacturing organizations and is seeking to make a meaningful impact in a smaller, entrepreneurial, and highly visible environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations including accounting, forecasting, budgeting, audit preparation, and reporting
- Prepare and present monthly financials and rolling forecasts to European parent company
- Partner closely with European finance and sales leadership on detailed monthly sales forecasting (including frequent cross-time-zone collaboration)
- Oversee and develop a lean, experienced team including: Accounting, Human Resources, Procurement and IT
- Support standard cost development, annual audits, and year-end financial planning
- Maintain and further develop a complex, European-based accounting system, leveraging existing institutional knowledge
- Collaborate with the President and ownership on strategic financial planning, operational improvements, and long-term growth initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in global manufacturing environments with revenue of $50M
- Background that includes OEM-focused manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and forecasting
- Experience in organizations combining distribution, assembly, and light manufacturing
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role
- Strong ability to partner with international stakeholders, particularly European ownership
- CPA preferred but not required; credibility with ownership and financial acumen are paramount
- Experience transitioning best practices from larger organizations into smaller, growing businesses highly valued
