Maintenance Assistant

Avalon Rehab & Care Center is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our facility. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Schedule: 10AM-6PM, 4 HRs Sat and Sun, one day off midweek.

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant

• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility policies
• Assist with groundskeeping duties, including outdoor upkeep as needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
• Support emergency repairs and on-call needs as required
• Identify and report any safety hazards or needed repairs
  
  
  

Qualifications For Maintenance

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous maintenance experience preferred, ideally in healthcare, facilities, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
