Position Summary
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all flooring throughout the facility. This role supports infection control, safety standards, and the overall experience of residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Strip, wax, buff, and maintain all types of flooring (VCT, tile, carpet, etc.)
- Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and extractors
- Perform routine and deep-cleaning floor projects as scheduled
- Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions throughout the building
- Follow proper chemical usage and safety procedures
- Support the Environmental Services team with general cleaning duties as needed
- Respond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and special requests
- Interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff
- Prior experience as a floor technician or in environmental services preferred
- Knowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
