General Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for handing all aspects of outbound shipments. Maintain an efficient flow of operations from the factory to customers, as well as maintaining good relationship with the vendors and our logistics members.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Coordinates with Department Managers/Supervisors necessary to stay current with order status and priorities
- Understanding of processing export paperwork and shipping documentation
- Reviews and communicates customer supplied routing/logistics guide
- Shipping documentation emailed information to customers
- Prepare labels (UPS, FedEx, and barcodes)
- Understand LTL, small parcel and dedicated truck shipments
- Prepare Bills of Lading
- Coordinate pickups with Logistic companies
- Tracks shipment while in route and stay involved as questions arise
- Confirm shipments on customer websites
- Provide shipping quotes as requested in a timely and accurate manner as requested
- Must be able to efficiently solve problems relating to transportation of goods in locations both national and overseas.
- Must be able to operate Microsoft Office, Outlook, and be familiar with ERP software
- Serve as customer point of contact for all logistics issues
- Enter all data associated with shipping, and sales orders into shipping systems and enterprise system
- Resolve operation related issues and claims with service providers
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancy
- Keep adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Assist Material Handlers in the warehouse when needed
- Check orders for Pull Accuracy
- Photograph loads when completed
- Any additional tasks assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Must have work experience in freight forwarding, outbound shipping, inventory management, or export
- Exhibits knowledge of state and federal regulations for exporting goods
- Must be detail oriented, and demonstrate the ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks, while working efficiently
- Must be able to assist Material Handlers in the warehouse with various task to include driving a tow motor
- Must be able to read and write English, follow verbal/written instructions
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Problem analysis and resolutionProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, ERP systems, Word, and Excel, Knowledge of Advantage a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
