We are looking for a results-driven and confident ACCOUNTING CONTROLLER to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the accounting controller will include managing accounting records, ensuring accuracy and usefulness of the accounting books and reports, overseeing accounting operations, recognizing and implementing tax saving strategies, forecasting revenue, evaluating and managing risk, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

We are looking for a results-driven and confident ACCOUNTING CONTROLLER to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the accounting controller will include managing accounting records, ensuring accuracy and usefulness of the accounting books and reports, overseeing accounting operations, recognizing and implementing tax saving strategies, forecasting revenue, evaluating and managing risk, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
Accounting Controller Responsibilities
- Monitor debt by overseeing construction, development, and all other loans and determine best funding options
- Monitor cash flow by tracking anticipated revenues, loan draws, expenses and anticipated purchases
- Prepare quarterly financial statements for multiple interrelated companies
- Stay knowledgeable of tax saving strategies and suggest ways to minimize tax expenses
- Work closely with company’s external accountant to complete tax returns and other financial projects
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with financial institutions
- Manage 3 person accounting department
- Monitor monthly price checking of suppliers
- Review and improve financial policies and procedures
- Stay informed about the constant changes in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Complete periodic audits
- Develop plans for financial growth
- Special projects as they arise
- Support executive leadership with financial insights, reporting, and strategic planning
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the construction or real estate industry
- Strong leadership qualities, and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
- Strong analytical skills
- Organization and attention to detail
- Forward critical thinking, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and risk management
- Initiative, drive, and strategy minded and the ability to align financial strategies with company goals
