What are the responsibilities and job description for the _TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT II position at ACC SENIOR SERVICES?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Transportation Assistant II supports various functions within operations while ensuring vehicle safety and cleanliness. This position is a full-time, non-exempt position and reports directly to the Programs Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains vehicles cleanliness; checks safety equipment/devices for proper function; schedules routine maintenance.
- Works with staff to ensure vehicle safety inspections are completed and vehicles are fully fueled each day.
- Transports older adults with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and/or physical limitations.
- Clerical support utilizing MS office; data entry; files daily schedules, receipts, invoices; assists with projects and reports.
- Maintains information logs and lists of clients and volunteers; prepares bi-weekly vehicle log and monthly reports.
- Assists with training & supervising ACC volunteers.
- Answers phones; provides excellent customer service and assistance.
- Dispatches drivers; schedules rides.
- Records ACC donations.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Two years college coursework in automative technology preferred.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle troubleshooting and diagnosis.
- Ability to perform minor repairs or replacement of vehicle equipment & accessories (windshield wipers, battery, etc.)
- Effective English communication skills, both oral and written; bilingual a plus!
- Proficient in computer operations, multi-line and cellular phones, Bluetooth devices, GPS units, fax machines, photocopiers, digital cameras, etc.
- Two years of working experience with volunteers and seniors preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid California driver’s license.
