What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Social Worker position at ACBF Juvenile Court Project?
The Allegheny County Bar Foundation Juvenile Court Project (JCP) is seeking a fulltime Social Worker to team with attorneys, paralegals, parental support advocates and peer parent advocates in an interdisciplinary model of legal representation. The JCP represents parents involved in child welfare dependency and termination of parental rights cases in Allegheny County.
Core Job Functions and Responsibilities:
· Interview clients to complete an assessment of their needs and goals and provide the assessment to the JCP team.
· Participate in case consultations with the JCP team.
· Provide crisis counseling as needed.
· Identify, refer and connect clients to needed services. Support and assist clients to engage in services that are tailored to their needs. Interface with service providers to proactively address any challenges with the services.
· Attend ACCYF Family Conferencing and Teaming meetings (case planning meetings), service provider meetings and other meetings related to client cases.
· Attend court hearings to support clients and conduct field visits, as needed.
· Track, document and report on contacts with and progress of clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Social Work is required.
· Good verbal, listening, interpersonal, writing, interviewing and organizational skills
· Commitment to public interest issues and working with diverse multi-ethnic populations and individuals with disabilities
· Dependable, passionate, empathetic, respectful and trauma responsive
The Social Worker will be instrumental in the development of the JCP interdisciplinary model of legal representation, the goal of which is to provide a holistic approach to assessing, advocating and supporting our clients as they address the issues bringing their family to the attention of the Juvenile Court and Allegheny County Children, Youth and Family Services (ACCYF).
