What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional PRN or On-call staff needed for all shifts position at ACAS Residential Group Home?
- Provide supervision and training to adults with intellectual disabilities to achieve the highest potential, and promote growth, according to the individual’s ISP
- Assist in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, nail care and oral hygiene.
- Provide support with medication administration according to the Physician Orders or Medication Administration Record (MAR)
- Complete program activity logs, fire drills and others
- Have knowledgeable of routine and emergency medical procedures to including: First Aid, CPR, vital signs and others
- Plan, Coordinate and facilitate community integration to enhance normalization, social and natural support.
- Schedule/follow-up medical and dental appointments as needed.
- Monitor the residents to ensure health and safety, and provide necessary support to complete their ADLs.
- Assist the Residents with personal items shopping including selection and purchases
- Facilitate weekly residents’ meetings to discuss concerns, chores and others
- Keep appropriate documentations of household purchases; maintain petty cash accounts and report any discrepancies to the program manager.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with staff, residents and family members.
- Inform the Program or on-Call Manager of program issues and events at the program.
- Build positive relationships, work collaboratively with the team and be a problem solver.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director.
