HR and Financial Controller

ACAL Precision Products is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting, financial, and human resources functions for our growing precision manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the company's financial health, ensuring compliance, supporting strategic decision-making, and administering key HR functions.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as a Controller or senior financial leader and will be comfortable working in a small-business environment where versatility, initiative, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting

• Direct and oversee all accounting and financial operations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to ownership
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
• Coordinate tax filings, audits, and compliance requirements
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
• Manage banking relationships and financing activities
• Support strategic planning, capital investments, and business growth initiatives
• Maintain and improve ERP and accounting systems

Human Resources

• Administer employee benefits programs and insurance plans
• Manage payroll processing and payroll-related compliance
• Coordinate recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee recordkeeping
• Assist with employee relations, policy administration, and performance management
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
• Coordinate training programs and employee development initiatives
• Support management with HR planning and workforce development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• CPA preferred but not required
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
• Previous Controller experience required
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and HR management
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• ERP system experience preferred
