The Expo/Food Runner plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position is responsible for ensuring every order is accurate, complete, and served quickly. The Expo is the final quality check before food leaves the kitchen and works closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams to keep service running smoothly.
Primary Responsibilities
- Verify every order is complete, accurate, and presented properly before leaving the kitchen.
- Garnish and plate food according to restaurant standards.
- Organize tickets and communicate clearly with cooks and servers.
- Run food to guests quickly while ensuring the correct meal goes to the correct table.
- Announce dishes when delivering food and confirm guests have everything they need.
- Keep the expo line clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
- Refill sauces, to-go supplies, utensils, and other expo items as needed.
- Monitor ticket times and help maintain fast, efficient service.
- Communicate any issues or missing items immediately to the kitchen or manager.
- Assist servers and bussers when needed to provide excellent guest service.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.

- Arrive on time and ready to work.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Stay aware of ticket times and help keep orders moving.
- Work with urgency while maintaining accuracy.
- Treat guests and teammates with respect and professionalism.
- Support other stations whenever business allows.
